The first 16 days

MY GOAL :
is Tyler Durden (Fight Club) see left

I was inspired on Feb 10th 2009 by
http://www.marksdailyapple.com and decided to try the experiment.

Heres an email to Mark
Hi Mark
Excellent blog !
I'm convinced that PALEO - Primal is the way to go, and I'm on day 3.
I'm following the rules to the T.
I was a big Brown rice and muesli fan lots of coffee too so I'm suffering now with migraines (withdrawal I presume)
Like you I;m 5 foot 10 inches but I'm 173 lbs with 21% body fat and ought to be around 160 -165 to be as lean as you.
I am fit in terms of my stamina as I exercise daily but have learned from your blog I do too much cardio and insufficient heavy weights and sprints which can be easily remedied.
Problem is I have the most chronic headaches since last night and all day today and am wondering if they will subside.
Ive upped my water intake to 10x8oz glasses a day.
I'm pleased I read your blog because I think I could have been taking in too much red meat and eggs but I see you really don't eat that much.
Is there a section on daily meal plans and more specific daily meal logs.
I'm 50 (51 next March)
I'm on Face book if you want to check me out,
Any advice and suggestions would be welcome.

Sincerely

Mark was kind enough to reply personally which I appreciate
Richard,

I don't have a blow-by-blow meal plan to follow as part of the principal of Primal eating has to do with variety and freedom of choice rather than the specificity of exact meals and exact calories consumed (see today's post). But I do have a sample menu on what eating Primal for a whole day looks like. Also, the Primal challenge results post has some good examples of what people ate when they began to go Primal. And here's a typical breakdown of what I eat in a day. Hope this helps, and feel free to leave a comment in the comment boards. Cheers!

So far its day 16 and all is going well except that have an injured hamstring (25 Feb sprinting) but the Primal eating plan is showing results.
My diet consists of
breakfast nuts and coffee
lunch fish salad with oil and vinegar
dinner meat and veg
snacks pinenuts (1 cal each) and berries

Workouts include rowing and the weight lifting - I got hold of the Tyler Durden (Bradd Pitt) workout for the Fight Club movie and follow that - Like the wording on the movie poster ...

Im really psyched ...
I will post some images of the progress as those are really motivational.
